We all know someone who is quite that athlete. Maybe they are a runner, into cross fit, or spend all their time at the yoga or barre studio there is probably someone on your Christmas list who loves sports. For me, it is my five and a half year old nephew Jackson who has turned into quite the little sports head lately. He wants to spend all his free time in the back yard throwing the football or kicking around his soccer ball, or on the driveway practicing his basketball skills. When he is stuck inside he is still crazy about sports always finding a game to watch on TV. So, I headed to DICK’S Sporting Goods to find some great gear for him. I just knew that getting him some cool clothes that look and feel more athletic would make him so happy this holiday. DICK’S Sporting Goods is trying to make holiday shopping easier for you with extended in store hours, plus shopping online, or through their mobile app. Also, they are offering free shipping now on all orders, no minimum required. (Oversized/overweight items may still be subject to a surcharge.) Check out DICK’S Sporting Goods to find a Gift that Matters!
I was really impressed with the selection of youth gear that DICK’S Sporting Goods had for Jackson. It was a pretty large section with lots of different options. I walked around it a few times checking everything out because there was so much that it was hard to pick. I was happy to see that DICK’S Sporting Goods had some promotions, sales, and general great deals going on during the middle of the holiday season – that really helped me to stretch my holiday budget farther (I spend a set amount on each person) and get him more stuff.
I am not going to lie, while I was there I did have to take a lap around the women’s section. I had to remind myself that I was there to find a gift for Jackson and that I already have a crud ton of workout gear, but boy did the have some cute stuff. I was especially lusting after Carrie Underwood’s CALIA collection as the run tops had cuts that looked feminine and flattering, and the tights had really fun prints. It was hard to walk away, I had to remind myself I was there to find a gift that mattered for Jackson, not me!
Luckily, I was able to pull myself away long enough to get him some great stuff. 2 sports shirts that he will love (Can you tell blue is Aunt Abby’s favorite color on him?), a pair of shorts, a pair of pants, and a water bottle. I think he will love that these are all made of moisture-wicking material so they will feel like the stuff the pros have. He is way into all the pro athletes!
In addition to buying the perfect place to find gifts that matter I was really impressed with the Sports Matter campaign that DICK’S Sporting Goods was running. At the very front of the store they had a huge sign and tons of green shoes laces. By grabbing a pair of green shoelaces you can help save youth sports (which I think is awesome since Jackson plays youth sports, my students play youth sports, and I even played youth sports way back in the day). Buy purchasing these green shoelaces $2 will be donated to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation to support young athletes across the country and help end the youth sports funding crisis.
If green shoelaces aren’t your thing then there are other options for you to donate. When you check out a screen will prompt you to make a donation to DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Initiative. All money donated will go to raising awareness and supporting underfunded youth sports programs.
Enter to win a $25 DICK’S Sporting Goods gift card so you too can experience all DICK’S Sporting Goods has to offer and buy a Gift that Matters for one of your loved ones this holiday season.
