I know that this is a bit outside of my normal running/health blogging, but mental health is health and let me tell you this – CandleFish class was the best thing I have done for my mental health in a bit.
My best buddy’s birthday just passed and I really wanted to find something fun we could do together instead of just getting her a gift, and after a bit of research I discovered CandleFish and their classes. We both love trying new things, making stuff, and burning candles at home so it seemed like a great idea.
Spoiler: We LOVED it!
This is not a sponsored post, they did not pay me anything, heck they do not even know I am a blogger. The CandleFish class was just that amazing that I want you all to know about it.
CandleFish has shops and candle making classes in both Charleston, SC and Atlanta, GA. However, if you do not live in these areas they now sell candle kits that make 6 mini candles (2 different scents). This is the perfect activity for you and 2 friends, just add the bottle of wine. For only $48, for all three of you, you could have an amazing girls’ night/mental health break and leave with 2 candles each.
If you live near a location – GO! I already scheduled my next CandleFish class in Nov. when my sister-in-law comes to visit.
You get to browse their library of 100 scents to craft the perfect candle for yourself. Don’t worry the class leaders will guide you in the right direction. Since it is still hot here I was looking for something summery and told the leader grapefruit was my favorite summer candle scent. Pretty soon I had about 10 signature scents in front of me, all that used grapefruit as a scent note, so I could pick my favorite.
It is great to go with friends because you will make two candles using the wax you create with your scent; however, this means they’ll be the same scent. But, if you go with a friend you can swap candles out that way you go home with two scents. So, Cari and I picked out two scents we both like and then she crafted one and I crafted the other. At the end we switched them around so we both left with 2 different candle scents.
It was a 60-90 minute class, it is BYOB if you are in the mood, is a great way to relax, have fun, and try something new. I would suggest it for everyone. Plus, it is affordable. Each of the candles you’ll be taking home retail at $22, so you get $44 of candles plus the supplies and class time for $55.
Let me know-
Do you like going to classes?
Would you be all about finding your own signature scent?
