Do you ever feel like everyone except you has it all together? That somehow others have figured out some amazing secret to time management that allows them to get everything done? Meanwhile you are left juggling it all and failing miserably. I am here today to tell you that you are not alone.
I didn’t write this post to whine, complain, or make you feel sorry for me – I wrote this post for those of you who often feel just like me – that everyone has it all together while you can barely hold your head above water. I want you to know that you are not the only one that feels that way.
We are not all masters of time management who have everything planned out perfectly. In fact, most people are like you and me, just everyday people trying to juggle it all at once. People who are quickly discovering that with so many balls flying through the air a few are bound to get dropped. (Heck, I think when I dropped the cleaning ball it rolled away because I haven’t seen that one in sometime.)
With the way the modern world works we are all pulled in multiple ways and juggling it all becomes a bit of a circus act. (Can I mention here that I have no clue how you all with kids do it?) Just like you, I constantly have balls in the air, some of our balls might be the same, some might be different, but we are all juggling for dear life.

The truth is that I used to try to juggle it all and dear heavens with that many balls in play they were shooting all over the place. I just could not keep up, balls were being dropped everywhere and I felt so guilty about my lack of juggling skills. Why couldn’t I keep it together? What if I were just more organized?
I am here to tell you that with as many ball as we all have in play it is impossible to juggle it all. Do not beat yourself up. Do not look at the perfect images people are portraying in social media and think you are the only one who can’t manage 90 things at once perfectly, we are all struggling.
What you can do is make a conscious decision to set down some of your balls. Instead of trying to juggle them all and watching them fall, just set down a few ball every day to make things easier on yourself. Be kind to yourself, admit you don’t have to do it all and just set them to the side.
I have been practicing this lately myself. Every day I have been consciously choosing to set down a few balls. To juggle less. I must tell you that at first it was a little tough, I felt like I was slacking off and leaving things out. However, it is important to work on being kind to yourself and understanding what you are doing and why.
For example: I have been setting the blogging ball down a lot. That is why you don’t see as many posts from me and at first I felt so guilty about this, but now I feel so much better. While my schedule is still crazy busy this has helped to calm things down a bit, which is such a blessing. Plus, I don’t feel unnecessary pressure by trying to juggling the blogging ball when I can’t, I just set it to the side and pick it up when I am able to. It was a tough decision to make, but my medical stuff had become a big priority lately and that has been taking tons of extra time. Sometimes the balls that matter the most change, and that is okay.
So, think about what ball are most important to you right now? Are there some balls you could set to the side to make your juggling a bit easier? Remember this doesn’t mean dropping them completely. We set balls to the side instead of dropping them so we feel less stressed and more in control of our decisions, and so when you are able to the balls are there for you to pick back up.
Let me know-
What strategies do you use to juggle your balls?
Have you set some balls to the side? Which ones? (Seriously, my house cleaning ball is MIA at this point.)
