Sorry this post is sweet and short, and lacking pictures. However, my internet is out (along with my cable) so I am typing this on my itty-bitty phone that way I can post using my cellular service.
Overall, Charleston came through Hurricane Matthew much better than expected. Many areas had flooding and there were lots of trees down, but it could have been much worse.
I was very lucky as my neighborhood doesn’t flood easily. My house did end up with a big 2 foot by 3 foot water stain and leak, but it was over the bathtub. I guess if you’re going to have a leak that’s the place to do it.
Other than the one big leak, power was out for 28 hours so I did have to toss the contents of my fridge as well.
Right now life is slowly getting back to normal. I still have no cable or internet so I’ll be a bit behind on the blog for a while. And while I am back to work, there was no AC at my school and no computer file access or internet there either. Plus, my trail is covered in trees so I probably shouldn’t try that again for a few days.
Baby steps back. We were so lucky overall.
