– They allow you to be noticed by people who may not have visited your blog otherwise.
– Many comment platforms provide direct links back to your blog/website after you comment.
– Quality comments can drive new readers back to your blog.
– They create a community.
So what does it take to craft a quality comment that will drive new readers back to your website?…
Follow this step-by-step list and you will be sure to get noticed.
How to Write Killer Blog Comments –
1. Use your voice –
Be sure to let your own tone, sense of humor, etc. shine through in your comment. People who are drawn to your personality are going to be the best readers and followers for your blog, they are the ones you want to attract.
2. Offer your opinion –
First, start off giving your opinion as it relates to the post, or by answering any questions the blogger posed.
3. Tie your own story into the post –
Then move into tying a bit of your own story into your post. This allows you to connect yourself with the blogger and their content and shows that you have something in common. This not only will make the blogger notice you, but the other people who follow them as well.
4. Make it substantial –
One and two word comments like:
– Good job
Those just are not going to cut it any more. Your comment needs to be substantial in order to stand out from the crowd.
Instead of, “Yummy!” go for something like this instead, “Wow, your cherry salad recipe is making my mouth water, and I am not even a huge salad fan, it just looks that good. I love tossing craisins and goat cheese into my salads, but I never thought to pit fresh cherries and use them (probably just laziness), I bet this takes it up a notch for sure. I’ll be trying this out soon. Thanks so much.”
