I am the proud owner of two adult coloring books and have been on the bandwagon since before the bandwagon was quite so big. Probably about 6 months ago I discovered an adult coloring book on Amazon while playing around and I instantly feel in love with it. Amazing designs, positive affirmations, what a fun way to spend a relaxing night. I usually watch movies on Friday to relax and unwind after a long week, kind of a mental health break, but why not add this in there. And so, my first book, Creative Coloring Inspirations was on its way. (Amazon link included.)
Since then I have bought a second book and spent many a Friday night relaxing in front of HGTV while coloring away. It is an amazing way to decompression after chasing after ten year olds all week and having a beautiful finished product at the end is so fun. I highly suggest jumping on the adult coloring craze bandwagon, there is plenty of room for everyone.
Remember mental health is an essential component of your overall health, so color away!

Love this idea. I wonder if they make adult color by number books? Seriously, I am not creative and the color by numbers were my favorite growing up 🙂
I always pick the ones that are all shapes and flowers and stuff so it doesn’t really matter what colors you use.
I recently saw this on another blog. I didn’t know this was a thing. It would be a very calming activity.
It keeps growing and growing it seems. Every time I am in Barnes & Noble there are more books.
I am not really patient enough to color but I do get the appeal- very relaxing activity!
You would have to do little bits and pieces then.
I’ve seen this all over Instagram! I think I need one!!!
You could get the boys some too and it could be a fun family activity on a rainy day.
I remember when you first posted about adult coloring! It is a great idea! I haven’t looked into an adult book, but I do color in my kiddos coloring books. 😉
I used to steal my students, which is how I knew I would love this.
This does sound relaxing! I like the idea of the Secret Garden book!
It is so freaking fun.
I do this sometimes, and often still doodle a lot. And I’m not an artist by any means. I give my clients mandalas a lot and tell them how relaxing they can be to do, so I decided I should do it as well. I love them and often have a stash. The Creative Inspirations book looks great!
How cool that you suggest this to clients too.
My mom just showed me two books that she picked up and they’re just gorgeous! Coloring books have come a long way!
Thy have come so far and there are so many creative ones.
I haven’t jumped on the coloring bandwagon yet, but it’s coming. I actually discovered adult dot to do and I LOVE that right now!
Seriously, that sounds awesome.
I just read something that said coloring is as relaxing as meditation for adults! I need to do that because I can’t even being to calm down enough to meditate.
I do it because I cant do yoga or mediation or anything else still.
Yesssssss. Love this. Coloring is so therapeutic. I’m already on board this train.
My plans tomorrow included a NetFlix movie and coloring – I am super excited for a relaxing Friday night.
