Upcoming Races – Fall 2015
August 29, 2015 = Dirt Dash Trail Half Marathon – Frances Marion Forest – Awendaw
*On all trail races my goals are the same: take it slow, don’t trip, don’t get lost, & have fun.
October 10, 2015 = Lowcountry Trail Half Marathon – Mullet Hall Equestrian Center – Johns Island
*The trails here have more roots to watch out for and a field full of horse divots, so it will be even slower than the previous trail race, but a great training run.
October 31, 2015 = Race 13.1 Trail Half – Middleton Place Plantation – West Ashley
*It is the first year for this run, and I would love to check out the planation trails, but being just a week before Savannah the timing didn’t work out.
November 7, 2015 = Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon – Savannah, GA
*Last year I ended up with about a 2:10 half marathon time so my goal in Savannah is to see how close I can get to a 2:05 finish.
November 14, 2015 = Sweet Tea Half Marathon – Summerville
*This is the second year for this new local half, but with Savannah the week before, once again, the timing just doesn’t work out and it got cut.
November 26, 2015 = Gobble Wobble 5K – Downtown Charleston
*I usually run this one with friends or family as a fun race with no time goal in mind.
December 5, 2015 = Reindeer Run 5K – Downtown Charleston
*Since I hit my 5K PR on a HOT May night I plan on seeing what a cool December morning can do and seeing if I can possibly break my 5K PR at this race.
December 12, 2015 = Kiawah Island Half Marathon – Kiawah Island
*I am not sure if this is the year I will get that sub 2:00 half, but I am sure as heck going for it. I will be pushing like crazy at this race hoping to get that dream time.
January 16, 2016 = Charleston Half Marathon – Downtown Charleston to Park Circle
*Even though I like the Kiawah course a lot better, Charleston is also flat and fast and on my schedule as a second chance at that sub 2:00.
What fall/winter goals do you have for yourself?
