Yesterday I joined the Spring Reset 21 Day Challenge with my amazing running coach, Laura, who also happens to be a health coach too. The Spring Reset 21 Day Challenge focuses on naturally detoxifying and cleansing your body by eliminating foods that are high in natural toxins and then very slowly adding them back in. Don’t worry you all this isn’t one of those crazy pills, cleanses, and shakes things – it focuses on real, healthy foods. You all know I need my food.
My very biggest goal with this challenge will be to go sugar free for all 3 weeks. I am constantly craving sugar – I cannot end a meal without wanting dessert, and whenever I have a bad day or am stressed out I want candy or ice cream. I know I need to find a way to get these cravings under control, and most of all prove to myself that I don’t have to give into a craving every time it pops up. If I can make it When I make it through 3 whole weeks dessert free (natural sugars like fruit are allowed) it will help me to see that I am stronger than I think when it comes to my sweet cravings.
This doesn’t mean I plan on giving up sugar forever, but I do hope this teaches me to make smarter decisions about when I do have sweets. (Like not ever single time I see, crave, think… about it.)
I have already been presented with temptations, but luckily I resisted.
Monday I had dinner at my parents house and my mom, being the fabulous hostess, asked, “What can I bring you for dessert?” I know they have tons of awesome choices in their house, stuff I never buy, but I still managed to say no. Today at school there was a HUGE bowl of mini candy bars in the teachers’ lounge. The packets of M&Ms and Milky Way Dark were calling to me, and it took a lot of resistance, but I walked away. Okay, I walked by twice, alright three times, I may have even stuck my hand in and touched the M&M bag, but then I really did walk away.
Have you ever done anything like the Spring Reset 21 Day Challenge?
Ever gone sugar free for a while?
