Sometimes I am focused so much on trying to improve my physical fitness that I forget fit comes in different forms. Don’t get me wrong physical fitness rocks, but what about being mentally and emotionally fit? Aren’t those just as important too?
So this week, I am focusing on a different kind of fit – the mental and emotional type.
The kind of fit that means I might not get a long run in because I am spending time playing Ninja Turtles with my fabulous nephew who I only see once or twice a year. The kind that allows for cupcakes and ice cream shared with the cutest 3 year old (almost 4) I know. My scale might go up a bit this week, and that won’t be the end of my world. I focus on my physical fitness – exercise and eating right so often that I must admit sometimes it is nice to take a bit of a break, a recharge to focus on the important things in life. (Think the eyes are inherited? They’re my dad’s.)
How do you focus on your mental and emotional health?
Do you give yourself breaks from focusing on physical fitness to recharge?
