It has been two weeks since my half marathon and I have barely run at all. I have gone for lots of walks, I have been to spin classes, heck I even lifted a bit, but running is tough! For some reason my legs still feel like lead and I just cannot get going. Usually this feeling passes after taking it easy for a week post race, but this time it is lingering for a lot longer.
I headed out for a sunny, but cool, 8 mile trail run this Saturday in my Mizuno Running Breath Thermo Body Mapping LS Tee. I was ready to get back on track for real, so sure that two full weeks post half marathon my legs would finally come to life. Hahahahahaha…
By the end of mile two I was running miles well over 13:00 min each and I felt like I was barely hobbling along. I felt as though I was doing more harm then good by trying to run so I called it a day and walked the two miles home.
Uggghhhhhh…. don’t know why my legs are taking so long to come back this time. Sometimes running can be so tough, but I always feel so blessed that I am able to run. I guess it is the tough days that make the good ones even better.
