A friend surprised me for Christmas with an awesome spiralizer. (This is the spiralizer she got me.)
I have never eaten anything spiralized before, but was excited to try it out right away.
Next, it was time to actually try out the zucchini noodles, AKA – zoodles. For my first zoodle attempt I wanted to do something simple so I heated up marinara sauce and tossed the zoodles in to warm them also. Then I threw in 2% mozzarella and turkey pepperoni because I had seen an idea for pizza pasta on Inspiralized.com (an amazing website full of spiralizer ideas) that looked really good, but of course I did it the lazy, quick, canned sauce way. I was surprised by how good it was. I will definitely eat zoodles again and I cannot wait to try spiralizing something else.
I am going to try to use the spiralizer a lot because I see many pros to it:
– easy to use
– gluten free
– a good way to sneak veggies into my diet
*I eat my body weight in fruit, but probably only have 2-3 servings of veggies a day.
Do you have a spiralizer? If so what should I try next?
If not would you want one?
Zoodles – yes or no?
Marinara Sauce – buy from the can or make at home?
