Now that that the Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon is in the bag, you may wonder what is up next for me. Or you don’t, but I’m telling you anyway.
Fall/Winter Race Schedule:
October 11th = Lowcountry Trail Half Marathon
Goals = Fun run – no time goal. Don’t fall down and don’t get lost, that is the plan.
November 8th = Rock ‘n’ Roll Savannah Half Marathon
Goals = Race it and beat my time from Rock ‘n’ Roll Virginia Beach. I plan on trying to race this half to judge my current fitness level and what I need to work on.
November 15th = Sweet Tea Half Marathon
Goals = Fun run – no time goal. This is a first year race just one week after Savannah. I have never run half marathon races on back to back weekends so my only goals are to finish, check out this new race, and have fun.
November 27th = Gobble Wobble 5K
Goals = Fun run – no time goal. This is one of my favorite races and I do it every year. I love waking up early on Thanksgiving, heading to beautiful downtown Charleston, and meeting up with friends and family for this race. This one will always be more about the atmosphere and running with people than about time.
December 6th = Reindeer Run 5K
Goals = Shoot for a new 5K PR. My current PR was a 28:10 on a hot, 90 degree, summer day, I am hoping some extra training and the cooler weather can help me come in at a 27:something.
December 13th = Kiawah Island Half Marathon
Goals = Race it and try to beat my Savannah time. This race will be 5 weeks after Savannah and I really like this course. I feel that with a bit of extra training I can improve enough to beat my time from Savannah.
January 17th = Charleston Half Marathon
Goals = Race it and see if I can top my Kiawah time. My current half marathon PR is on this flat and fast course. If there is crazy wind like last year it will be nearly impossible, but if conditions are good I am hoping to make this my fastest half of the bunch.
