So far I am liking the Weight Watchers point system. I am a real numbers nerd so I always enjoyed calorie counting too. The problem with calorie count was that I had been doing it so long (about 3 years) that I started to get lax and so it was not as effective anymore.
Currently Weight Watchers seems to be working out well because I really do want to do well and stay within my points/goals.
So, when I am running errands downtown and realize it is 1:30 and I am about to eat my own arm off it encourages me to make a healthier choice. I know I admitted in My Salad Confession that I am not a fan of the actual greens part of salads so I try to avoid them at all costs. However, I am really working on eating better and trying to be more open. Confession – at the end of this meal all the good stuff was picked off the salad and only half the lettuce was eaten, baby steps.
The other great thing about Weight Watchers, for me, is that you can earn Activity Points and you are given Flex Points. These points can be used towards a few little treats or one big splurge. As some one who does not believe in denying myself treats this is crucial to my success. I happened to be at Cupcake picking up treats for school and it was their gluten free day so they had one special GF cupcake. It was a Pineapple Upsidedown Cake and I had to go for it. It was my only big splurge that week, and I had the points to cover it, so I didn’t feel guilty and I like that Weight Watchers gives me that wiggle room.
I have not lost much yet, but I am heading down in weight and not up so that is something I am proud of.
Best salad topping? (blue cheese)
If you could splurge on one cupcake flavor what would it be? (carrot cake)
