Actually this should be Thankful Thursday, or some other alliterative title, but by the time I got home last night it was too late to write so you get the delayed version today.
First off, I came home to a huge package from Team Chocolate milk yesterday. New shorts and sleeves plus a tank, short sleeve shirt, long sleeve shirt, and jacket (Amazing). I was so excited that I couldn’t help it – I broke a cardinal rule and raced in something brand new. I tossed on the short sleeve shirt and headed out the door to race number one of the Race the Landing 5K series.
New clothes were not the only exciting thing though. This was my first race using X2 Performance. I mentioned earlier that it is something new I’ve been Loving Lately.
X2 Performance is a pre-workout supplement meant to increase energy, endurance, and recovery – all things I’d love a little help with.
I have been trying it out all week, and after having never used a pre-workout before, I am pleasantly surprised by the results. I took it about 45 minutes before my race, and my other weekly workouts, and I noticed that it helped me to push through. Usually I struggle with workouts after work because I feel so zapped from a full day, but the X2 Performance gave me a bit of extra energy to get me going. In fact I was going so strong I set a new 5K PR! (More about that in a race recap this Sunday.) I plan on continuing to use this in the future, but since pre-workout supplements aren’t cheap, and I am rocking a school teacher budget, I’ll use it before races when I need an extra boost (like this nighttime 5K series) and not as often before my normal workouts.
If you’re interested in trying X2 Performance you can follow this no commitment link to your own free X2 Performance Trial. If you just pay shipping they will send you the product for free, no commitment. If you are like me and have never tried a pre-workout before this is a good way to do it for cheap. Or if you love pre-workout this is a great way to try out a new brand.
Disclosure: X2 Performance is a paid campaign, but as always I only share my honest opinion about the products I test out. Heck, you can’t fake a race PR.
