I absolutely adore the Mizuno Wave Creation, it was my very first Mizuno shoe and it is still my long run go to. I recently updated my Mizuno Wave Creations and switched from the 14 (bottom) to the new model 15 (top). I wanted to let you in on my thoughts on the updates to the Wave Creation 15.Just like the other Wave Creation models the 15 offers maximum cushioning.
This makes it the perfect shoe for my long runs and essential if you are an injury prone runner (like me) looking for a bit more in a shoe.
Unlike the dramatic change in the upper fabric from the 13 to 14, the change in fabric wasn’t that different from the 14 to 15. The fabric is still very light-weight and breathable, a great improvement since the 13. However, Mizuno did change the look of the shoe a bit. The run bird appliqué was made much smaller and moved to the back, while a new pattern makes this shoe pop!
Functional and good looking – you have to like that.
The biggest difference between the 14 and 15 is the new u4ic midsole.
This new foam is 30% lighter than before, but is just as durable. That means the Wave Creation will hold up just as well, but will be even lighter. This is an awesome change. When I started wearing the Wave Creation a few years ago these shoes weighed in at almost a pound! Now, with all the great alterations I still get the cushioning and shock resistance I have come to expect from my Wave Creations, but the 15 weighs in at only 9.2 oz. Amazingly light-weight for a shoe that offers so much!
After trying these out for a little over a month I am very happy with the changes from the Wave Creation 14 to the 15. The shoe still has all the support I need for my long runs, but the updates make it a bit lighter and a lot prettier. (I confess – I love the new pattern.)
Check out the Wave Creation 15 from Mizuno for yourself.
Also, check out how Mizuno gifted my awesome buddy Cecilia with her own brand new pair of the Wave Creation 15 in honor of her pushing through a canceled marathon (stupid weather), keeping her spirit up, training hard, and tackling her first marathon a few months later than originally planned.
A great gift for a Brilliant Runner!
