When I found out that I would have the chance to have dinner in New Orleans with Cecilia, one of my fabulous blog readers and blogging buddies, I knew I had to do something special. See, Cecilia is as Mizuno crazed as me. Her social media channels are all constantly flooded with pictures of Mizuno running shoes and she screams her Mizuno love from the mountaintops – my kind of girl.

On top of her awesome Mizuno obsession she embodies the runner’s spirit. Cecilia trained hard for her first full marathon, St. Jude, only to have it cancelled the night before because of icy road conditions. Instead of letting that get her down she extended her training cycle a few months and set her sights on finishing the full marathon in New Orleans. I was so inspired by how upbeat she stayed the whole time, and how positive she was about everything, so I knew I had to call in a favor.
Lucky for me, Mizuno not only make the best running shoes, they are also a fabulous company full of wonderful people (one of the many reason my love for them is at a scary level) who jumped at the chance to recognize a Mizuno loving runner for all her hard work and dedication. The sent out a beautiful blue backpack, complete with a compartment for (insert your best Bob Barker Price is Right voice here)… her new shoes!
Mizuno sent their gorgeous new Wave Creation 15. These were perfect because, while Cecilia and I both have many different styles of Mizuno running shoes, we both do all our marathon training long runs in the Wave Creation. Even better was the fact that Cecilia hadn’t bought the 15s yet, but had mentioned numerous times how she couldn’t wait to get them for herself. Surprise! (And seriously how amazing is the print and color on this shoe?)One of my favorite things about being a Mizuno ambassador/blogger –
When they let me play Mizuno fairy!
Cecilia’s expression was priceless. You could tell that the gift from Mizuno meant a lot to her and I was so happy to have been able to be a part of it.
Thanks to my buddy @momonempty for playing paparazzi while I was caught up playing shoe fairy.
What do you think makes someone a brilliant runner?
Which brilliant runners inspire you?
Cecilia’s dedication to continuing on, with a positive attitude, even when her first marathon was cancelled the night before really touched me.
*Disclaimer – While I do work as a blogger/ambassador for Mizuno all opinions on the shoes (and their awesomeness) are entirely my own. Trust me, I was obsessed with them long before I became an ambassador.
