When I was contacted about sharing UnitedHealthcare’s Stepping Up For Better Health program with you I was really excited because it fits in perfectly with my blog and myself. I am a huge believer in stepping it up and making little changes in order to make your life happier and healthier, and I think it is amazing that UnitedHealthcare is working to motivate people to do just that. The truth is I wish more healthcare companies, actually companies in general, would focus on stepping it up and encouraging people to take better care of themselves. Preventative medicine, focusing on getting healthy, motivating you to make smart decisions… in my book all of these are just as important for a healthcare company as fighting diseases and illnesses because actions like these help to prevent many issues in the first place. I think UnitedHealthcare is definitely on the right track and I am excited to see what will come of their Stepping Up For Better Health campaign.
One great tool UnitedHealthcare is using to motivate people is the Step Up story. By going to their website and sharing your own Step Up story you are not only reflecting on something great you have done, but hopefully also realizing how good it made you feel. You can even check out the Step Up stories other people entered while you are there, what great motivation. On top of that, just by entering your story you will be entered to win awesome prizes.Visit the Step Up story entry form on the website (click link for form) and fill it out.
Don’t worry, the form is short and simple to use.I personally shared this Step Up story:
I stepped it up by helping to motivate my good friend through her very first marathon training and then the actual race, Marine Corp Marathon. I knew it meant I would not reach my own personal race goals. However, helping her to finish was more important. I will have more races and I so badly wanted her to catch the marathon bug. Learning to love running and helping others to love running is the best thing I have ever done to step it up for my health. As if the chance to win UnitedHealthcare’s awesome prizes (I so badly want one of my readers to win the getaway) while you share your own inspirational story and check out others isn’t enough – they are offering a special promotion for BackatSquareZero readers…
