Last winter I deferred the Marine Corp Marathon, had to walk the Thanksgiving 5K, deferred the Kiawah Half, and huffed and puffed my way through the Charleston Half and Charlie Post 15K; however I was so happy to be running again by those last two that the time I finished in really didn’t matter.
Well, with this new foot injury my finish time once again is not a big factor; goals change.
I did register for tons of races this year and my new, injury adjusted, goal is to finish them all, no deferrals or skipped races.
Sept. 7 = Dirt Dash Trail Half Marathon
Oct. 12 = Mullet Hall Trail Half Marathon
Oct. 27 = Marine Corp Full Marathon
Nov. 9 = Rock ‘n Roll Savannah Half Marathon
Nov. 24 = Gobble Wobble 5K
Dec. 14 = Kiawah Island Half Marathon
Jan. 18 = Charleston Half Marathon
Jan. 25 = Charlie Post Classic 15K
Feb. 2 = Rock ‘n Roll New Orleans Full Marathon
Rock ‘n Roll Savannah was my newest, and probably last, addition to my winter racing schedule. I decided I need something to get myself back up and running distances after Marine Corp Marathon because I have another full in New Orleans only 3 months later. This race is 2 weeks post MCM which seems perfect, is less than two hours away, and should be a beautiful & flat run. What winter race, run, or workout are you most excited about?
(Other than this my would be chasing my wild nephew around over the holidays.)
