Perhaps one of my favorite holidays of the entire year.
It combines my three great loves: friends, football, and food.
I had planned on attending a Super Bowl party with some of my fabulous girl friends and sharing with you some healthier Super Bowl dishes I was going to make and take.
Then, this happened:
I felt somewhat sick Thursday and Friday, but better Saturday afternoon – Then Saturday evening it’s like I got hit by a freight train. Body aches, hot flashes and cold chills, and a fever – Boo.
Today, instead of cooking delicious food and spending time watching football with friends, I spent 14 hours in bed. Now, I am about to watch a bit of the game on my couch while eating canned soup. I will probably return to my bed again soon. Dear heavens, I am exciting.
So sorry, but no Sunday recipe this week. I wish you all a fabulous Sunday full of delicious food, great football, and better friends.
I’ll be back next week, until then check out some of my previous recipes:

Awww… sorry that you’re feeling sick, especially today! I hope you’re able to still enjoy the game, even if you aren’t feeling well, and I hope you’re back to feeling 100% soon!
I did see most of the game, but I watched it from bed. I guess that will make next year’s game seem much more exciting.
Feel better Abby!! I hope you can still enjoy the game and a few munchies on a smaller scale.
I did have a bit of food – soup and some ice cream (because it made my throat feel better of course).
Aw, I’m sorry you’re still not feeling well, Abby! It’s a major bummer that you have to miss out on the Super Bowl festivities. I hope you feel better soon!
The crazy thing is I am more worried about missing a whole week of marathon training – we runners are crazy sometimes.
So knew something was up when you talked about being too sick to go to the barre class. I hope you feel better soon and can at least watch the game. Let me know if you need anything, will be out and about at lunchtime tomorrow (planning to buy groceries on my break, lol).
Thanks for offering, I really appreciate it, but I have pretty much quarantined myself in the house.
So sorry your superbowl was ruined, girlie! That’s no fun!! Feel better soon xoxo
Thanks Jenna.
Feel better soon girlie!
Thanks Kat.
Sorry you aren’t well Abby. Thinking of you
Thanks Kate, I appreciate it.
checking in on you…
Thanks Miz.
I called my mom and asked to take care of me, she said I am 30, she doesn’t want to get sick, and therefore on my own.
The doctor gave me some medicine to knock me out. as much as I really am not a fan of controlled substance medicine – I think I am about to go for it.
Feel better soon! I know it wasn’t the fun Superbowl event you’d planned, but think of how many calories you saved by staying home! Bet you win the DietBet!
That is what I am trying to laugh about Alison. The flu is killing lots of pounds.
Rest up and feel better soon my dear!!!
Thanks Nicole.
I’m sorry you didn’t feel well! I hope you were still able to watch the game at least. Feel better!
I watched a bit from bed since I wasn’t able to sleep.
I have medicine now so I hope that helps.
