I have been dominating my 2013 Goals – Running and 2013 Goals – Personal. Okay, maybe not dominating, but I am really happy with the progress I am making, it is definitely a step in the right direction. The one area I am not doing as excellent in: 2013 Goals – Healthy Eating.
I let myself go a bit over the holidays even though I swore I wouldn’t and it has been hard getting back on track. However, the past 4 days I have done great. I am down almost 3,000 calories so far (I love counting them and seeing those negative numbers) and I think I know why- at the beginning of this week I signed up for a Diet Bet and I am really excited.
I have to admit I wish the Diet Bet started this week since I have been doing so much better. I want those calories and pounds I will be losing to count toward my total. However, I am super excited to weigh in this weekend and start the Diet Bet on Monday.
I am really hoping to win my money back, but I went into this knowing that even if I miss the 4% weight loss goal (which is about 7 pounds for me) and don’t win my money back if I lose those first 4-5 pounds it will be worth it. Don’t get my wrong though, I will be trying very hard to win! I cannot wait for this extra motivation.
Do you want to join in? There is still time to sign up at https://www.dietbet.com/games/5738
What is usually your biggest struggle when losing weight?
How do you overcome that?
My big struggle is that this Diet Bet is smack in the middle of Restaurant Week and Poogan’s Porch Menu Rollback. I usually eat out once or twice a month, but I have 5 reservations in just 3 weeks. I am still going to allow myself to enjoy my dinners out, but I plan to be even stricter about my healthy eating the other days.
P.S.- What are the chances of me winning all $4,575?

Good luck with the bet! Your chances of winning will be much higher if you accomplish the goal, I have read about other bloggers participating in similar type of events and if you don’t even meet the goal then you aren’t qualified to win. So just focusing on yourself, stay healthy and active and the reward is your body! The money would of course be awesome, but definitely intrinsic value
I am with you, while money would rock if it motivates me and gets me going on my own it is so worth it.
I was younger when I lost weight- imagine 25 extra pounds on my frame, and that’s what I looked like at high school graduation. I lost a lot of it just by walking places at my college campus, eating a lot of Subway (walked there every day for lunch at my summer job), and then running. There were definitely some temptations because it was college and obviously end supplies of food around, but I was broke so at least I had that going for me. Good luck with your diet bet and challenge, I do agree when you put money in it people tend to take it more seriously and the fact that it’s a group doing it should help too because you get good support
.
I am hoping the money helps motivate me. I have been stuck 10-15 pounds up for a year now.
thats a cool idea and a fun thing to take part in! if i had weight to lose i would totally get on that! good luck, my dear! i know you’ll be great!! <3
Yep, your pretty awesome the way you are.
You can just cheer me on instead:)
Good luck! I know you’ll meet your goal + some
I am so amazed at how big these DietBet pots get!
I’m winning all $6,000 dollars. Will that get us a helicopter. Call up everyone else and tell them they can only lose 3.9%
Good luck with this! It was definitely a struggle for me to lose weight for a few years, I yo-yoed a lot. I’m glad that I now typically stay in a healthy 10 pound range, sometimes above or below where I normally am.
I definitely think marathon training will help you with this
I think that getting back into train will be great, but I also need to get back to making healthy food decisions and I hope this will give me that push.
Good job on the goals! I’ll be rooting for you on the DietBet. I’d thought about it, but I’m pretty sure my body won’t cooperate & drop those last pounds of fat in a nice, timely manner. It always takes a lot of work & struggle for me to get those last bits off. Grr. Good luck to you, girl!!
I am a little worried about how stubborn these last 10-15 pounds have been. However, I am just hoping it gets me back on the right track.
