With football season in full swing and holiday parties/pitch-ins happening all the time I wanted to provided you with another reduced calorie dip option. Just like the Skinny Pimento Cheese I featured as last week’s recipe, this Skinny Spinach Dip is a great appetizer – only 4 ingredients, almost no prep time, and you won’t feel guilty eating it.
Skinny Spinach Dip:
2 cups (16 oz.) plain Greek yogurt non-fat (0%)
1 cup low fat mayo (I use Hellmann’s.)
10 oz. frozen, chopped spinach
1 package Knorr Vegetable Recipe mix (found in the soup aisle)
*I found this recipe on the Knorr site awhile ago and want to share with you all.
– Dethaw spinach.
– Pat dry with paper towels to remove excess water.
– Pour all 4 ingredients into a medium sized bowl.
– Stir until mixed evenly.
– Serve with reduced fat crackers or a sliced baguette.
Now the health statistics:
This recipe makes about 4 cups.
I split it into 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) serving sizes which makes it about 16 servings total.
This provides a serving twice a large as the 2 tbsp. serving size most store bought hummus, dips, etc. allow for only 45 calories!
If you split this Skinny Spinach Dip into a 2 tbsp. serving size like most store bought spinach dips it would have only 23 calories a serving. Way less than any store bought spinach dip!
