Turns out the only way to recovery from an injury is slowly and cautiously with lots of baby steps along the way. (Step by step, oh baby…. insert awesome New Kids song here.) Which in truth I should know by now seeing as I am pretty much a professional at starting over at square zero (hence the blog name) and all. However, every time I am injured (way too often) it seems I forget how long this recovery process takes.
Check out my musings as I make my comeback, again…
Basically I am excited to be moving again, excited to run my first 5K in two weeks, but realizing there is no way I will be ready to go from a 5K to a half marathon in two weeks.
I will admit that I wish I was able to knock out 30-40+ mile weeks like I used to do on a regular basis, but I am very excited to be running even if it is just part of a 30 min run/walk program because something beats nothing any day. Repeat to self: Not now doesn’t mean not ever (and a crud ton of other motivational junk).
