So after a big improvement last week… turns out my injured hamstring is still winning kicking my butt. I did Mon. & Tues. workouts half way and then took 3 days off hoping the rest would help with the pain. Yet even after all that rest I still only averaged a 12:20 pace per mile on my twelve mile run. This is a bit disappointing because my half marathon PR is sub 2 hours which means I know I should be able to run this distance at close to a 9min mile pace.
I am trying to look on the bright side though, while it was a really ugly run and much slower than I would like, I did finish. I guess plans change. I will run MCM, I will tour DC for the first time and have fun, but this may not be the marathon I was supposed to PR.
Seriously, this is my life… run into an ex this week looking like absolute, unshowered, hot mess of crap (I always want to look banging when I bump into one, you know just ‘cus). Wake up to run 12 miles…glowing skin and hair looking way better than usual. Oh the irony, love it!
My second toe is hated by all my other toes, look it is totally separated from my big toe and the other three by huge gaps. This means my three littlest toes are so crammed together that they rub like crazy when I run causing lots of blisters. I’ve been wrapping and band-aiding like crazy…
Do you have any suggestions?
